Blue Halo Supplied Powerful Lasers to The US Army
Defense technology start up Blue Halo manufactures powerful drone eliminating lasers systems that are now being deployed by the US Army. In just five years the company has been able to design, test, and field their new laser weapon system. This laser system is the first major laser weapons system deployed by the US Army. This Year Blue Halo was able to secure a $1 billion contract from the pentagon, to deliver its Palletized High Energy Laser (P-HEL) system to the Army. This new piece of technology is meant to be used as an air defense system that can deal with small drones, rockets, and mortar shells. The system provides pin point accuracy and is AI powered. The company also manufactures counter-drone technologies, space technology, and cyber warfare solutions, all of which make use of its machine learning software, Metis. CEO Jonathan Moneymaker highlighted that their product portfolio is special and that there are very few competitors that can rival Blue Halo in totality. Still, Blue Halo trails behind other defense tech companies such as Shield AI, Anduril, or Epirus, all of which are considered unicorns in the industry. But thanks to a merger with Eqlipse Technologies this year, Blue Halo is close to achieving $1 billion in revenue. What's more the company currently has 2,400 employees across 11 states.
